How durable are bentwood rings?<\/h1>\n

This is the most common question we receive, and understandably so. For someone purchasing a wooden engagement ring<\/a> or wooden wedding bands<\/a>, it is important to know that the ring will stand the test of time.<\/p>\n

Before ever selling our first ring, we spent months in testing. The initial trials involved subjecting our standard-thickness rings to pressure. If they could be broken by squeezing them between fingers, they were not strong enough. Orienting the grain around the circumference of the ring on our bentwood styled rings – ensures that they are by no means “fragile”.\u00a0 It would take a significant amount of pressure \/ effort to break one of our rings!<\/p>\n

The second test was water exposure. This was done on the bare wood ring, with no protective finish applied. We thought if the bonding agent were to weaken when the ring came into contact with water (ie. when washing hands), that would not be acceptable. Since we use a 100% waterproof bonding agent, all rings pass this test easily<\/p>\n

We even took it further, by submerging rings in water for 24 hours and longer. Still no problems… our wooden rings do not fall apart when exposed to or even soaked in water. …even if the finish is completely worn off.<\/p>\n

We didn’t stop there with testing; We asked more questions: “What if a ring is left in someone’s pocket and tossed in the washing machine?” Then we tried it. This put the ring against not only water, but friction. Again, the ring survived the test. Our bentwood ring also survived being put through a clothes dryer.<\/p>\n

With all that said, no ring is indestructible. After all, if one is clamped in a vice, or subjected to a sledgehammer, it could certainly be broken.<\/p>\n

However, we are confident that our wooden rings are more than sufficient to survive day-to-day activity, AND we stand behind the workmanship.\u00a0 This means if anything happens to your wooden ring under normal wear within the first year, we will repair\/replace it for free. If you need find that you’d ever like to have your ring re-finished and polished, we can do that for free within the first year or for a fee of $35 after that first year has passed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
